Blue Horizon Lodge is excited to announce that we are the newest Orvis Endorsed Fishing Lodge in Belize. For the past 5 years, our guide service has enjoyed the endorsement by Orvis. We served anglers the best fishing in the region as we lodged our guests at Thatch Caye, other sister resorts, and by offering day trips through numerous other resorts in Hopkins, the Placencia peninsula, and the cayes of southern Belize.
In 2021, multiple site visits by trusted members of the Orvis family, yielded expectational reviews of the experience at our newly rebuilt lodge. The guest room facilities, the lodge, the food, and the service were all highlights of the reviews. Of course cooperative fish helped too!
The newly rebuilt lodge sits on the same foot print of Lincoln’s original lodge on the island of North East Caye. Our rebuild was done with an effort to retain the “fish camp” feel of the original Blue Horizon while adding the necessary updates that today’s traveling anglers requires.

Both purified water tap water safe for drinking (desalinated water from the tap)
High speed internet though our the island (15+ Mbps)

The Orvis company has been endorsing fly fishing guides, outfitters, and lodges that meet their standard for being a world class fly fishing operation. This standard ensures the guests of an endorsed operation will encounter best in class service and facilities in the best fisheries around the world.
Acceptance into the endorsement program is determined by a number of factors such as resources, facilities, experience, customer service, and references. Each endorsed operation is visited and under goes a review based on a specific check list. This check list is in place to ensure guests of the endorsed operation will encounter unparalleled service, respect for natural resources, and an experienced, professional staff, in the safest manner possible.
